Heat is so uneven it fails at pancakes! I purchased this after having mixed experiences with another Presto product, where some things worked really well and a smaller number of things failed miserably. I expected that electric griddles were a solved problem, so I had higher expectations, and the average review is very high.There are lots of positives, and a few slight problems, but mostly the fact that this thing doesn’t conduct heat away from its embedded loop-shaped element and consequently cooks things very unevenly…

It does not get 5 stars for two problems that could have been caught in testing prototypes.The temperature control plug would have been more useful if it had been placed on the right side near the top of the handle. It is a little awkwardto place in it’s present position. In addition, the temperature light can not be seen when standing in front of unit, even on your tip toes and I am six feet tall.
