The stainless steel charcoal fire grate designed to improve the performance of your Kamado Joe Classic Grill.The 10.25″ diameter wire grid design allows more air flow to the charcoal and will not clog with ash like the many small holes on the original fire grate. Stop struggling with the ash that builds up on top of the traditional cast iron fire grate which you have to clean between uses.  High temp cooking is easier now, but yes, it will still work at lower temperatures. Because the grate does not clog up and block air like the traditional grate, you must regulate these temperature by carefully adjusting the draft door and low temperature cooking is as easy as ever.
