There is no actual mesquite wood in these pellets! I wish I could give a zero stars rating for these pellets.I’ve been smoking on a pellet grill for years and these are the worst pellets you can use. They do not tell you there is no actual Mesquite wood in their pellets. In fact, none of the flavors listed have that actual type of wood in them. Gives a good, deep, rich, sweetish smoke. We recently purchased a Traeger Tailgater and bought three bags of pellets–this hickory, apple and alder. We intend to use the Tailgater for chicken parts, thick pork butt slices and salmon fillets. We did a mixed grill over the weekend: Chicken thighs, fresh Alsatian sausage and nicely marbled pork butt slices.
