This thing works really well. It’s also skinny enough to fit in various locations in my smoker without taking up a whole tray. If you fill it completely, some pellets will obviously want to fall out the open end when you lay it down. A flip-up enclosure would have been nice. I’ll have to engineer something, but might be as simple as a little aluminum foil wrapped around the open end, then light it from the closed end. As far as burn rate, I used Pit Boss pellets, and I got about 5 hours of burn…
Should be 4.5. Would have given 5 if had some sort of cap to keep pellets inside when laying on its side. I light with a heat gun. This thing smokes like crazy for at least 4 hours. I use it with my GMG when cold smoking or speeding up the smoking process. It lays inside the vessel and provides serious smoke. I just ordered another one for my buddy. He could not believe the amount of smoke it provides. Literally makes your eyes water and cough when you open the lid. Do not waste your money on…
