Spend a bit more and look elsewhere for a vertical style smoker I selected this as my entry level into the world of charcoal smoking, but was disappointed. I started with a small amount of charcoal using the âminion methodâ with water soaked wood chunks. It did produce great a great thin bluish smoke, but even with the water tray, I could not keep the temp down with both vents almost completely closed. I use a remote…
Consistent temperature and easy to control! Iâm just getting into smoking my own bbq and I found this smoker very easy to use. I used the minion method with about 5lbs of coal and it produced very consistent heat at about 240 F for 7 hrs. I checked in on the temperature about every hour and didnât have to change much once I got the temperature i wanted. The thermometer on the lid is pretty accurate in the beginning but starts registering higher temp few hours into cooking. The grommet for digital thermometer is really handy in this case…
